Both Star Wars Lands Officially Named And New Details Announced
At the D23 Expo in California today, Disney announced new details on the upcoming Star Wars Lands that they are currently constructing in Florida and California after showing off a 50ft concept model of what both will look like once they're complete.
In the presentation today, the names of both park expansions were revealed by Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Bob Chapek as "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge". I really like this chosen name for the new lands. It sounds bold and exciting, something that's going to provide us with our own adventure within the Star Wars universe, something I think we have all dreamt of doing before!
We also heard reaffirmed plans that you'll be able to fight the First Order as well as pilot the Millennium Flacon. Disney Imagineering also announced that the lands will be living and that you'll be judged by those living in Galaxy's Edge by the way you return the Falcon after a mission. Sounds so exciting!
It was also confirmed that the Anaheim expansion will open before the Florida park, but both will open in 2019.
I can not tell you how excited I am for these lands to open. There is no shadow of a doubt that as soon as the Disney Parks Blog announces the opening dates for Galaxy's Edge, that I'll be the first one to book my tickets to visit a Galaxy Far, Far Away!
