Portsmouth Families Had A Great, Cheap Day Out At The Big Screen
Today saw the first event at the Big Screen Portsmouth in Guildhall Square which received great feedback from the public of Portsmouth. With free face painting, gardening activities, attractions and a free film screening, there was so much fun to be had!
This was our Spring Easter Family Fun Day that's now in it's 4th year as an event at the screen. This event was designed to give families a cheap, enjoyable day out in the city during the Easter break! We hosted faceprinting, a gardening activity zone as well as fun fair rides. Then, at 1pm we showed Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie on the Big Screen for free, with thanks to our established working relationship with 20th Century Fox.
The day also featured bespoke video branding on the screen that acted as a promotion for all of the different activities available in the square. I put it together with the intention of maintaining both the event branding along with the new Big Screen "Join Us" branding. Watch the full daytime loop below.
The event overall was attended by more than 200 people, with 140 children taking part in the Easter Hunt, where they had to find hidden letters all around Guildhall Square which spelled out a winning word. Our seating area was packed out full for the film screening and both myself and the team at Portsmouth City Council are very pleased with the overall event that was hosted. Additionally, we couldn't have been luckier with the warm weather we received.
