Footprint: The Sustainability Game Launches On Kickstarter With My Video Production And Voice Over Work
Today, I'm thrilled to share information of my involvement with the launch of a brand new board game that helms education at the forefront of its mission. Footprint: The Sustainability Game has launched on kickstarter today to raise funds and allow it to be given tot he younger generation in schools.
The board game is rather a simple but enjoyable one. Simply expand your knowledge of the world's eco-system and environment to answer multiple choice questions and help clear planet Earth of pollution. The more questions you answer, the better you and your team will do in the game overall.
The concept and reason behind this game is for it to end up in schools to help educate children on the subject of global warming. While it's targeted at children, there are three difficulties of questions meaning it's great for a vast range of ages. And, with it's great portable size, the game offers a solution to those boring car, train, plane, boat and bus journeys!
I joined the project back in November 2017 where I could put my degree of video production to practise. We took a trip to Aspex Gallery in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth where a group of friends and I filmed for an entire day resulting in three videos, ready for the game's launch.
The first video was an animation. Originally created in Photoshop by the game's designer, Owen Devine I took his work and brought it to life in Adobe After Effects. There were so many different elements that I could work on, it was almost like being in a toy shop for me. Even now, I still watch the animations and miss some of the different parts I've brought to life. How many can you see in the below video? Tell me in the comments!
The second video I produced was the Promo Video. This was produced from a combination of shots that sparsely follows the voiceover that I also provided. As this would be the first video to be watched on Kickstarter, I wanted to give it a sense of urgency but professionalism at the same time.
The third video is an explanation of how to play the game. Owen added his voiceover for this video, which gives it a real personal touch! He explains in detail just how easy it is to play his game, aimed at beginners.
There was also a fourth video produced. This one features the group actually just playing the game. Soon, once it's released, you'll be able to watch all four players invest in innovations, answer interesting questions and see who the final victor is!
Footprint: The Sustainability Game is available for you to back on Kickstarter now! With a small target of £500 along with various stretch goals, this is one not to be missed. You can back the project now for as little as £1 and, with it's popularity, the project has already run out of it's early-bird option.
Footprint: The Sustainability Game World Edition will be attending the UK Board Games Expo this weekend in Birmingham where you can play the game and find out more information. If you're not there though, why not follow the below link to find out more about the game, and how you can join the campaign!
