Had A Lot Of Fun At The Land Rover BAR Grind-Athon
This morning I was invited along to represent the Big Screen Portsmouth at the Land Rover BAR headquarters in Portsmouth to take part in a "grind-athon" for Sport Relief. The event is a 24 hour endurance test where members of Land Rover BAR will be grinding through to generate enough electricity to "power the tower" (Spinnaker Tower).
As part of their challenge, local businesses and organisations were invited to a "spin-athon", to encourage and entertain the grinders while Bestival Festival found, DJ Rob da Bank played a live DJ set to keep us going. This was so much more fun than I anticipated it being.
I had dressed and fully expected to be doing some grinding (not the dance move) hence my dress attire, a comfy workout top and jeans, obviously this wasn't appropriate for spinning. This was my fault entirely as I didn't read the invitation properly and it's why I make look dressed inappropriately for the activity. I went on the spinning bikes though and took part with my mate, Thomas Mundy also seen pictured above.
As part of the Big Screen Portsmouth supporting this event, the screen in Guildhall Square will be live streaming the spin-athon and and grind-athon throughout the day for the community and public to watch. Read more here.
The event is being held to help raise money for Sport Relief that takes place today and if you want, you can donate now on this link. You can also read more about the "grind-athon" here as well as follow all the action on the Land Rover BAR social media accounts, such as Twitter.
