There's A Certain Charm To Rivers Of Light That You Have To See

After spending your day riding all of the attractions in Disney's Animal Kingdom, you might want to consider two things for your evening. Food, and some entertainment. Well in this post, I'm going to talk about the evening entertainment available in Disney's Animal Kingdom and why you can't miss seeing what's on offer!

Rivers of Light was introduced last year in April and as the reviews suggest, it was a bit of a disappointment. However, after seeing the show for myself, I wholeheartedly disagree with the opinions of these reviewers as the shows provides a certain magical charm that absolutely no other Disney entertainment experience currently offers.

Intertwining water, music, light and projections this nighttime spectacular offers a beautifully conceptualised story that has a certain gravitas. It puts life and nature into perspective, but in a welcoming manner, even from it's calm opening music that leads into the performance.

The show must be a technical nightmare. It uses floatation devices that are controlled by GPS that navigate around the performance area on the lake that sits in the middle of Animal Kingdom, right by Expedition Everest. These precisely timed floats offer an array of visual stunning effects. From floating animals, to water fountain displays, there's always something to look at that gives you several "oh wow" moments throughout.

The soundtrack is spectacularly beautiful and fitting for the park. While I agree in that there's no big finale, I think it does a great job in topping off your long day with something peaceful and relaxing. It's very different from all the other big, in your face experiences across the other parks you'll find at Walt Disney World, but it's one I loved and would love to see again one day.
